Austin Avenue I – Plano

Completion Front20160305_112927Austin Avenue (I) in Plano is back!!!  I know the neighborhood really missed this sports bar and family restaurant.  After the original location was unfortunately lost to a fire, but I believe that the loyal patrons are going to love the new building which was built at the same location.  This lighted channel letter sign on backer panel features RGB LEDs, so be prepared to look for a sign that has letters that change in colors, if you are looking for the restaurant at night.  We also lined the backer panel with white LEDs, so it will have a halo effect around it.

We are proud that the owners of Austin Avenue have continued to allow us to help them with their signage projects.  Giant Sign had fabricated the signs for the original location when it opened as well as helped with the Austin Avenue II location in Richardson.  Welcome back Austin Avenue!  Can’t wait to catch our favorite sports and meals, once you open.

Ridgway Mailing-Dallas

We fabricated the FINISHING CENTER letters with black acrylic faces and a 2″ black trimcap to match their existing RIDGWAY MAILING sign. These were mounted on clear poly-carbonate strips due to the rocky, uneven wall.  We actually removed the existing RIDGWAY MAILING and reinstalled it lower to accommodate the FINISHING CENTER letters which we made to match their existing sign.

Buttermilk Sky PIE SHOP – Colleyville

Edited 2Edited 4BUTTERMILK SKY PIE SHOP is coming to Colleyville!  This delicious franchise from Nashville and Atlanta is coming to the DFW and has landed in Colleyville.  This super-customized sign features lighted (front-lit) channel letters mounted on a tongue-in-groove cedar wood planked backer panel which was not stained, but water-sealed many, many times.  PIE SHOP letters routed out of the wood panel with white acrylic plastic and LEDs are housed behind in the aluminum channel we welded.  This welded aluminum cabinet behind the wood and channel letters face, also houses the LEDs for PIE SHOP and allowed us to mount off of the stone wall’s fascia.  Power supplies are remotely located behind the wall.

Thai Tara Kitchen – Carrollton

Thai Tara Kitchen is the new Thai Restaurant which will be opening in Carrollton.  It is located on the SE corner of N. Josey Lane and Frankford Rd. and promises to be a delicious option for those who love Thai in the Carrollton area.  The customer asked that we create a lighted channel letter capsule sign on a raceway that would meet the Carrollton code, and thus after conferring with the City’s Building Inspections Department personnel responsible for overseeing the plan reviews for signs, we maximized the space allowed, per that code.  We’re really happy that the teal and white pops out against the blue background of the wall structure.  Can’t wait til they open – “Time for Thai Tara Kitchen”.

WOW Design – Carrollton

EditedWOW Design has moved to the H-Mart Shopping Center in Carrollton.  Facing Old Denton Rd., this sign features internally illuminated individual channel letters and a capsule on an aluminum backer panel with wireway behind.  The first “W” in WOW was digitally printed.  Lit with white LEDs, this sign now provides them with a nice store front for their customers to visit when they have design needs.

QUILL – Dallas Design District

QUILL, is the new swanky cocktail lounge that will be opening in Dallas’ Design District soon. Located adjacent to the infamous Oak Restaurant as well as PakPao Thai, this location on Oak Lawn Ave., is a beautifully renovated space that required a sophisticated yet beautiful sign to compliment the interiors of this space.

Quill’s main sign above the entrance features a reverse (halo) lit channel letter with routed faces which house the translucent gold vinyl overlaid plastic inserts that allow the gold to glow as well as the halo-effect around the letters when lit up at night.  We powder-coated the letters and screws to give it a nice matte black finish and to ensure that the paint does not fade over time.

The windows were wrapped in a metallic satin gold vinyl, which brings out the gold in the channel letters above and also gives a nice silhouette.

For the rear door/entrance area, we wrapped the windows with a matte black vinyl overlay and also fabricated and installed a small light box above their canopy.

FOX & HOUND Sports Tavern – Pylon Sign Refurbishment

FOX & HOUND Sports Tavern, located next in North Dallas on Frankford Road has been a neighborhood favorite for years.  The existing pole sign was in disrepair and so when their national sign company needed a local sign shop to take on the refurbishment of this pole sign, Giant Sign gladly accepted the task.

The project entailed surveys for measurements, coordinating with local sign inspectors, removing the old signage and wiring, patching the existing face panels and then installing the new signage as well as painting the entire pole structure black.  The 2 day turnaround for one of our crews was quick and the job was well done.  Stop by to check out out work and enjoy a beer or meal during a sports event while you’re at it.

Fruitealicious – Carrollton inside of 99 Ranch Market

Fruitealicious is now open and is serving its “Refreshment Redefined” drinks in the new 99 Ranch Market location in Carrollton (located on the Southeast corner of President George Bush Tollway and Old Denton Rd.).  A long-time customer of Giant Sign, we were able to provide a low cost sign for their new space which will be serving their famous bubble teas, smoothies and more.

The sign features a two layers of 1″ Gatorfoam, with the letters being digitally printed and routed to provide a 3D effect on top of the 1″ white backer.  We painted the sides of all the letters a darker orange that gives the letters even more pop.  Asked to provide more lighting since this space is in a darker corner of the supermarket, we fabricated lamp tracks and placed on top of the soffit below, giving them some needed light and glow.
